Vocal Investor Base Requires
Strong IR Program
Open Market, Inc.

The Challenge   Open Market, a pioneer in e-commerce and content management solutions, needed immediate Investor Relations assistance to respond to a large and vocal investor base.
     
The Solution   Smith & Suita quickly initiated a strong IR program to ensure an integrated communications approach including an aggressive calendar of PR and IR activities, the addition of newsworthy content to press releases wherever possible, the development of a comprehensive IR website and more. All activities provided frequent news-based support to investors and helped to retain investor interest and ownership of the company’s stock.
     
    Early in the IR program Smith & Suita also managed an onsite Analyst Day to ensure a strong foundation for future activity.
     
The Results   The IR program resulted in an average of 45 financial, corporate and product releases each year, 10 analyst meetings, hundreds of phone calls both initiated and responded to, and increased general understanding of the firm.
     
    Open Market's Analyst Day generated a stronger understanding of the company and generated good will among participants and interested parties. 30 financial analysts and institutional investors attended the company’s analyst event. Goldman Sachs, Paine Webber, AG Edwards and Soundview among others subsequently published positive reports prompting the company’s highest stock price ever recorded.
