The Challenge   HotRoof, an early-stage provider of next generation streaming media, wanted to solidify the brand and gain recognition in the local market - all in order to support primary business objectives of securing additional funding and high caliber employees.
     
The Solution   Through a highly targeted PR effort Smith & Suita helped to introduce the company and its technology. By focusing on the vital few media outlets and leveraging the company’s affiliation with a well-known VC firm and appearance on MoneyHunt, HotRoof received the media recognition that helped to achieve the legitimacy and prestige needed during the early days of the dot.com phenomena. Company launch activities included personalized targeted pitching, press releases and kits, media interviews etc. Expertise was also extended to add value to brand image and new web site.
     
The Results   Despite the lack of customers that could be mentioned in releases, PR efforts resulted in coverage in The Boston Globe, Boston Business Journal, Mass High Tech, Berkshire Eagle, Berkshire Record, Internetnews.com, Union News of Springfield, Venturewire.com, CEOCast.com, and Localbiz.com among others.
    The initial coverage was subsequently well utilized in follow on work with websites American Baby, Golf Digest and Denise Austin, the well-known fitness guru.
